The purpose of this petition is to express the wish of concerned citizens from countries across Europe for a major open public debate on the approach to the COVID-19 crisis in their respective countries and the position that the European Union has taken in this regard.

Specifically, we want the major television stations in all countries of Europe to broadcast an extensive debate lasting several hours, bringing together our politicians and policy-makers on the one hand, and experts who criticize these policies on the other.

Topics to be covered include:

• the communication of the measures in the mainstream media;
• the legality of the measures;
• the process by which the measures are arrived at, and their democratic nature;
• the choice of measures and their proportionality.

We are challenging every important leader in Europe: Emmanuel Macron, Mark Rutte, Olaf Scholz, Alexander De Croo, Ursula Von der Leyen, Boris Johnson, Sergio Mattarella, Pedro Sánchez, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Andrzej Duda, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, Karl Nehammer, Magdalena Andersson, Sanna Marin, Nicolae Ciucă, Mette Frederiksen, Jonas Gahr Støre, Michael D. Higgins, Viktor Orbán, Nikos Anastasiadis, etc. to defend their policies in an open debate.
